Coaching is a process that facilitates productive changes. It does this through the creation of a conscious and structured relationship that is focused on learning, improving, and delivering business results. A coach can help guide, create and monitor processes for individuals and teams to take purposeful action in achieving desirable goals. This course is the first step in learning to be a coach. The participant will watch and experience being coached, learn basic skills, become familiar with some tools of coaching, and will create a personal action plan for moving forward. Successful organizational change and learning initiatives have been publically recognized to be direclty related to coaching.
- What a coach is and is NOT and the benefits of coaching
- Learn and practice coaching skills such as:
- Surfacing powerful questions
- Creating actions and being accountable to them
- Listening between the lines
- How to try new perspectives and reframing
- How to create a coaching relationship
- Tools that you can use immediately to try new skills
- Allowing for new perspectives and ideas that can lead to understanding, efficiency, and more effective problem solving
- Learning to manage more, rather than managing by “reaction”
- Knowing how to create deeper, more trusting work relationships
- Learning alternative ways to communicate effectively
- Learning new tools and techniques you can apply immediately
Offered in a half-day or full-day training as an independent module or part of a larger training/coaching program
